It often amazes me on the ignorance of the world!
One often hears about the Garden of Eden. It is thought to be a mythical place mentioned in the Bible. What escapes the majority of people is that the Garden of Eden is this planet Earth that we have been made the custodians of, and what a mess we are making of it!!!
This planet is a marvel in itself - an enormous sphere revolving in space. Each of us is a very minute spot on its surface. By ourselves we have hardly any affect upon it. However, when we form a united body, we often become a huge weed in the garden which affects the garden as a whole. This forms a body that is intolerant to others, what they are and what they believe in.
There are two major things that affect the well being of us all. These are the biggest killing weeds in the garden. These are peoples’ twisted interpretations of religion and wanting control over others.
Firstly, we are affected by those people who try to force their faiths and beliefs on others. Those people have no right to affect what each of us believe in. It is wrong for anyone to consider that their religion is “The Religion”. Religion is to do with whatever a person’s personal beliefs are. Providing they do not do any harm to anybody or anything, every person is entitled to believe in what religion they choose and to be given the respect for what they believe. After all, nobody knows, or will know, the force which started everything. My personal belief is that the symbol for religion should be a QUESTION MARK! Perhaps the best way forward to promote a respect for each others religion is to have a Festival of Religion held in, say, Hyde Park for the UK and Central Park for America where the goodness, consideration and tolerance for each others religion could be shown?
Secondly, it is wrong for anybody to consider themselves to be better than anybody else and to be in control of anybody. Every person on this planet is unique and special. If anybody is not achieving what they should be capable of, to the betterment of themselves and others - with consideration, tolerance and compassion towards others - they should be given any help they require from those who are more fortunate than themselves, to become self sufficient and, in turn, to be able to help others less fortunate than themselves.
We should not overlook the mess we are making of the world. We are short-sighted on the affect we are having on the future of this planet. We seem to have no respect for the natural structure of it and the wild life. We have been the cause of erosion of many parts of it which affect the living environment of ourselves, wild animals and the natural world. We have seen indigenous populations of parts of the world having their natural environments taken from them. Global warming is becoming more and more a threat to the existence of the planet as a whole.
Each of us has got to wake up to the fact that we are not only responsible to ourselves. We are also responsible to others. Each of us is a small piece of that jigsaw called humanity. Every piece should interlock. The complete jigsaw should be like a picture of a garden which has many different flowers in it, formed from the different races, colours, beliefs and orientations of the whole population of this world living in harmony with tolerance, compassion and consideration shown to each other. We should hope, in considering our own personal families, they could live and prosper in a world where the individual is concerned about the well being of others.
It may be thought that the writer is an idealist and that the world described will never be achieved. The answer to this is that the thought is a negative thinking one. Human beings have been given the gift of communication, compassion, tolerance and consideration towards others. It is within the realms of belief that we can achieve a world which could become a Garden of Eden. If there are factions who will not allow it to happen, they should feel the force of united bodies who want it to happen. Religious leaders should condemn those who wrongly use the reason of their religions to promote harm to others. The United Nations should become a force to be reckoned with by becoming an armed force made up of all the armed forces of every country of the world with no country having their own independent force. Every country should have military bases consisting of military men from every country. Their purpose would be to ensure that peace reigns supreme. If any country threatens peace and stability, the united force will be able to tell them to watch their step or the force will invade, take over and set in motion a society which would be to the benefit of the world as a whole.
If we could achieve a world where each and every one of us is concerned with other people, we will be able to face up to the disasters which we have to accept as natural disasters such as tsunamis, droughts, earthquakes and floods which are caused by Mother Nature herself. We cannot blame whatever god we believe for these to happen. They are natural occurrences. We should be prepared to help all those affected by them, giving them the encouragement to pick themselves, dust themselves down and start all over again with help from us who are more fortunate.
A message for the human race. IT IS UP TO YOU!!!!!

Unfortunately, the rich people who are running (ruining?) everything are not going to cooperate with the sensible ones among us.
